About Child Development Nepal "Invest in a Child, Transform the World"

Child Development Nepal (CDN) is a non-governmental and non-profit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of marginalized and deprived children, youth, and communities by promoting their rights to survival, development, protection, and participation. Established with a vision of building an equitable and resilient society, CDN works across key sectors including education, health, nutrition, hygiene promotion, civil society development, and disaster risk reduction (DRR). The organization implements community-based initiatives to improve child well-being, promote healthy behaviors, enhance local governance, and strengthen social accountability. By collaborating with local governments, civil society organizations, and development partners, CDN strives to create inclusive, participatory, and sustainable development across Nepal.

About Child Development Nepal

Our Role and Mission

Promoting Child & Human Rights

CDN promotes the four dimensions of child rights — survival, development, protection, and participation — while supporting inclusion of marginalized children, women, and communities into mainstream development

Strengthening Education

We strengthen the quality of education by promoting girls’ education, enrolling out-of-school children, and providing learning materials, scholarships, and school support

Livelihood & Vocational Training

CDN empowers youth through skill-based programs such as building and electrician training, computer hardware, networking, and tailoring to help achieve financial sustainability.

Humanitarian Assistance

We provide health, hygiene, and nutrition support, and respond to natural disasters by assisting affected marginalized and Dalit communities.

Advocating for Accountability

We promote transparency, participation, and accountability from duty bearers toward children, youth, and women.
